Horse workshops are intended for children between the ages of 6 and 11. They take place during all school holidays (May, summer, October).
When playing and socializing with children, horses act as teachers who educate in a sort of natural way and thus allow children to:
The aim of horse workshops is for children to get to know horses and learn about their nature. Only then can they work with horses in a proper and safe manner. One the one hand horses are big and strong animals but on the other they are very gentle and sensitive. We try to teach children the basics of horse psychology and thus about the right approach, so that they can develop mutual trust and understanding. To see them establish true friendships is really amazing :)
Horse workshops begin by children only observing the horses on the pasture: how they act in their herd, how they get along with other horses, how they “communicate” with each other, who is their leader etc. The next step is when children start learning about horses up close. They learn about their anatomy, their senses, how to take care of them, they clean and groom them etc. After a thorough “introduction”, we teach them basics of horseback riding.
